After months of waiting in excitement for the winner of UI to be crowned, its finally here. A high court judge ruled that the show would continue and all audience members would be released unharmed following the announcement of the 2006 Uzbkistan Idol.
The final two contestants have battled almost two months of anticipation to give their final performance this week. A fresh faced Bronislava opened the show with a shrieking rendition of the black eye peas hit ‘pump it’, in which she showed off her new surgically enhanced face after undertaking a face lift in the past week trying to appeal to a younger audience. Although not able to open her eyes (due to swelling from a recent brow implant) she still managed to show her fans why she is known as the white whitney of R and B.

Blinded by the lights: Ruslana 'pumps it' for the crowd
Season campaigner Ivana Kumpakiske fought through a severe dislocation to perform what has become her signature song ‘ You sexy thing’. Fears for her safety were raised when she gyrated her left hip right out of its socket, but like the professional she is, popped it right back in by the next chorus.

Ivana shows why she is still the 'hippest' grandma in Uzbekistan
With only minutes before the big result and with the voting lines closed, Ivana and Bronislava stood side by side awaiting the big moment. When a world first in Idol was revealed. Idol contestant Mikale Spalko who was critically injured during a freak cycling rundown, had returned following a successful larynx transplant to compete in the final.
A devastated and confused Bronislava refused to accept the return of Spalko stating that his reentry and unexpected recovery was illegal under the bylaws of Uzbekistan Idol. Controversy filled the stadium as officials struggled to calm the mass confusion within the forcefully detained crowd.

This was later diagnosed by doctors to be a ‘ruptured left ventricle’.
A crazed Bronislava then turned on the crowd, fatally stabbing seven men and four women whilst singing a her heart stopping rendition of ‘I will always Love you’. Fans cheered, believing it to be her most emotionally mature performance to date.
As security guards struggled to contain the crowd and minimize casualties, a brave Spalko produced a 9mm handgun and treated the audience to an amazing final performance of the Paul Mcartney classic ‘ Live and let die’. Thus finally ending the debate on who was to be this years

The elated 19 year old crooner with a donated voicebox was now living his dream. A once bullied boy had become a national hero.

A typically pensive Simon Cowellovich presented Spalko with the trophy he was born to hold.
Congratulations Mikael Spalko on becoming this years Uzbekistan Idol.
However……………………..
It was to be the shortest reign in Uzbekistan Idol history.
UI would like to thank all its followers for their patience and understanding. We hope you have enjoyed this wonderful cyber reality experience.

For weeks the Producers of Uzbekistan Idol have been fighting in court to allow the final outcome to be shown. The identity of the winner is still under wraps.
The Law firm of Schuit, Craib and Collins were assigned to the case, and they had this to say
"We have no idea why CENSORED decided to start an injunction and we were shocked by the action"
They have been fighting day and night for 3 weeks in order to show the finale.
The Live audience have not been able to leave the studios, or have any contact with the outside world for this time. The Law firm of Schuit, Craib and Collins are now handling the case of the 192 charges of Kidnapping against the producers.
UPDATE : It seems that the court case was far from over, and it has been battling out for the past 2 months. This is the Second longest case in the history of The Uzbekistan legal system (the first being over the custody of a donkey). Luckily we have, for the third time won the court case, and we can bring you the highlights from the spectacular 45 Minute finale. Who will Win?

Who WON? Check back at Uzbekistan Idol soon for the final outcome!!!!
Shock news: Mikael spalko critically injured in charity cycle race

Mikael recieves a goodluck handshake moments before the tragic accident
Idol finalist Mikael Spalko is in a critical but stable condition in Outlying Uzbekistan County Hospital (OUCH). After agreeing to be a celebrity rider in this weeks 'tour de Uzbekistan' charity cycle race for crash victims. Spalko was clipped by a car driven by a fan who claims she was "just asking for a autograph". Police have dismissed the incident as 'unfortunate' and denied any possible foul play.
Charity Race officials however have praised Spalko for "raising awareness of the dangers of car vs cycle accidents. In a fitting tribute, the site of the accident was promptly renamed 'The Chicane of Spalko'.

Mikaels idol dreams are crushed....by a white volkswagen polo
Amazingly Mikael was the only one injured out of the 2000 cyclists competing. Medical efforts were hampered by Uzbekistans flailing emergency services, as only one ambulance was on duty and that broke down three times on route to uzbekistan Hospital.
Tragically the impact of the collision caused extensive injuries to the 19 year old crooner, a factured skull, 8 broken ribs, a perforated bowel and perhaps most devestating of all, a crushed larynx.
Doctors are doubtful as to whether or not Spalko's soothing voice will ever be heard again.
Uzbekistans finest surgeons delicately operate on spalko's damaged voicebox
A press release from Surgeons stated that some of the injuries (including the crushed voicebox) were "unfortunate side effects of the surgery and not necessarily a result of the original collision"
Fans and wellwishers have stayed away from the hospital in respect to the young mans privacy. Although in a coma, Spalko's fanbase remains undamaged, with his popularity actually rising by 35%.

Doctors and idol officials have advised that Mikael should withdraw from the competition pending regaining conciousness.
With Spalko a withdrawal from the competion, Bronislava nd Ivava are left to slug it out in next weeks final performance to decide who will be YOUR Uzbekistan Idol.

Meanwhile the uz idol-finalists and judge Simon Cowellovich , have recently attended a charity dinner for syphilis and gonorrhea awareness week.

Rumors have now surfaced that Bronislava and Mikael are now an item. This comes after huge speculation that a secret romance was going on. There has been no confirmation yet from either parties.
Other rumors have surfaced that Ivana has infact had extensive plastic surgery. But She has denied this saying that the reason she was in hospital was to have some anal bleaching....

Live eviction!: End of Idol Dream for Spatkovich
This weeks eviction show was one of both tears and joy as the public bid farewell to one of their favourite sons Boris Spatkovich after recording the lowest number of votes this week. Boris went out on a high, giving his final live performance to a record television audience of 100 people on Channel UZ.

Boris performed on the roof of the American Embassy in Uzbekistan where his final number and signature song 'American Pie' was met with two air to ground heat seeking missiles.
Fans were given the chance to say goodbye to the man that some of the community dubbed 'the man with the velvet voice (the deaf community making up a large part of his fanbase). The remains of his body were carried through the streets of the Uzbekistan capital and treated to a traditional Uzbekistan 'ticketape parade' ( Uzbekistan locals using sticks and small rocks to substitute pieces of paper).
Idolist and friend Mikael was honoured to be able to help carry the remains of Boris to his burial site
"He was a real mentor for me, not necessarily in singing, but just in life” says Mikael.
"Actually, he taught me about the type of singer i dont want to be".

"He was a very gifted man, and im sure he will be remembered for whatever that gift was"
In what was a heartwrenching eviction, fans and mourners gathered to the final resting place of the idol by the dozens. But for an event that already shrouded in controversy, things would only get worse. With threats that the coffin of Boris was loaded with explosives, the bomb squad was called in and the coffin was detonated a second time to ensure the safety of all the fans.

So now, it is our pleasure to announce that the competition has been re-opened and the voting line* are now up, so get voting everyone, Uzbekistan Idol is back..

In the Past few weeks…
Well while we’ve been offline the idol finalists have been quite busy. Mikael headed out into the public to share his good will with the community. In what the public thinks was an attempt to change his “bad boy” profile to a more family friendly image, Mikael offered his services at the local salvation army.
He was put on answering phone calls and giving advice to people with depression. The media dubbed it ‘Lemming friday’, with a record 7 suicides in one afternoon, one of them being a wrong number, he was only phoning to put in a job application, but after Mikael tried to sing him a song, well…..you get the picture..

After this he decided to go out and try some street performance. Again a rash decision on Mikael’s part. The doctors say that they had never seen such horrific injuries before, and that, with rest and minor facial reconstructive surgery he will be able to take part in this weeks performance.

Meanwhile in the nations most successful (and coincidentally only) newspaper, a series of articles concentrating on the finalists past brushes with fame have been published. The most recent article concentrated on Bronislava and Boris’s past attempts at becoming recording artists. Some interesting photos and facts have been unearthed.
Apparently Boris had released an album entitled “Boris Spatkovich Unplugged”, consisting of 12 original and all acoustic songs. Unfortunately it failed to make a dent in the top 20, or Top 100. Some say this was because it was an amateur album and it was not aimed at a large audience. Others say it was because he couldn’t actually play the guitar and had a voice that was “as soothing as an air raid”

Bronislava however had already had some mild success with her own band “Bronislava and the Jailettes “ and she talked candidly about her fan base. “Most of the fans you know were like the long term cons, the kind of criminals that liked pain". " Infact it helped being famous because it got me a few extra conjugal visits with my husbands".

Ivana however has faced some backlash from her family and fans over her “provocative” photos in last months issue of

With less than 3 days to go before the voting lines close for the first Idol eviction, tensions are running high. A massive 7 votes have been recorded (two and a half times the population of Uzbekistan) meaning that Uzbekistan Idol has truly gone international.

While the Idolist's prepare for Thursday nights Live audience performance, many of them have admitted to being more than a little nervous about performing live. " I just dont want to let the public down" says 19 year old Mikael who has been battling with food poisoning since beginning Idol. Mikael, who is very popular with the younger age bracket has received many get well letters from his fans. " I even had one woman write me, who said that she was sharing my Nauseous feelings when i perform" " It's so wonderful to have fans that sympathise with you" says Mikael.

Mikael drops some 'phat' beats in the booth
This weeks Hiphop/R&B theme certainly has idol fans anticipating a 'funky' live show. Current Favourite Ivana Kumpakiske (2 to 1 odds to go all the way to the final performance) knows only too well that this week will be her week to show her true love for Hip Hop. " I just wan't to let all my homies know that i won't let this chance go by....I know how to lay it down for the crew". Not only is Ivana the public favourite, but also has a few high profile fans. Uzbekistans chartbreaking rapper 'Uzi Kila' has announced his interest in making a duet with the 84 year old. "She is Uzbekistans answer to Mariah Carey".
Riding the wave of Idol, last years winner Alexi Korjev has announced the release of his new album and possible tour next year. Since becoming an Idol, Alexi has been hard at work recording his second solo Album. But after dissapointing sales of his previous effort- 'Alexi sings the greatest love Polka's of all time', he predicts this album will top the charts. " I have had alot of time alone to write how i feel and really get inside the songs".
His latest offering, a Elvis Presley tribute album is said to be a dream come true. "I have always been a hugs fan of Elvis, I just love tight white leather". The first single is a remake of that classic Elvis rock medley. 'Jail house Polka' will be in stores early November and his national tour will begin september 2006 pending his successful appeal and release from Uzbekistan's Institute for the Criminally Insane .

This years Idol competition has reached its peak as the final six were announced early this week. After several workshops across the country, the 25 talented performers were whittled down to six. Judge Simon Cowellovich had the job of selecting the final group “It was a much easier job this year” Says Cowellovich, after a new rule was introduced to ban the inclusion of farm animals into the competition.

Here are the final six contestants vowing for the crown of 2005

Although this well respected accountant has always had a love for music, it wasn’t until his 32nd birthday that his talent was realized. “The first time I ever sang in public was my uncles funeral” says spatkovich “ As soon as I started to sing, people were crying and wailing….I guess my voice just moved them”

As a former swimsuit model, Labko had often wondered if she could turn her hand to music. “I have been a model for years now, and my boss was always telling me I had a face for radio, so I thought that’s what I’ll do…..become a radio star”

After retiring from his family business of chicken farming, this left more time for Gaafa to pursue his dream. “I’m no stranger to fame“ says Gaafa “I was the Yodeling champion three times running back in the seventies”. Hoping to bring his special brand of ‘Country and Eastern’ to the world, Gaafa likens himself to a “talented Billy Ray Cyrus”.
She may be the older one of the group, but that wont stop this 84 year old star from shining. The only member of the final six with singing and dance training, Ivana runs her own Hip hop dance classes and has already released the single ‘Still Pimpin with a pacemaker’. Winning through to the final six with her rendition of R. Kelly’s ‘Bump and grind’, Ivana hopes that her prosthetic hip and bilateral knee replacements will hold out till the end of the competition.
Once bullied at school, this 19 year old crooner always knew he had an amazing singing voice. “I used to sing all the time at school” says Mikael, “until the relentless beatings forced me to hide my gift”
